-DIREWOLF EARNS ECMA NOMINATION IN BREAKOUT FIRST YEAR-
East Coast Music Awards
'Loud Recording of the Year'
Direwolf is proud to receive a nomination for 'Loud Recording of the Year' at the 2026 East Coast Music Awards, marking a major milestone in the band’s very first year of activity.
The nomination recognizes Direwolf’s debut single release "Thunder Calls" (released independently), and places the band alongside established names in the East Coast heavy music scene, including Dali Van Gogh, The Order of the Precious Blood, Thunderor, and Where Giants Once Stood.
Earning a nomination of this caliber in the first year of activity the immediate impact Direwolf has made within the east coast music scene. The ECMAs are widely regarded as one of the most respected music awards programs in Canada, and the Loud Recording category represents some of the region’s most powerful heavy music.
“This nomination means a lot to us.” says Taylor Sheasgreen, lead vocals and rhythm guitar of Direwolf. “To be recognized at this level and this early on, alongside these bands we respect, it’s an honour. And, a huge motivation to keep pushing forward and working hard.”
Driven by a sound that blends modern metal intensity with modern anthemic songwriting, Direwolf has quickly established itself as a rising force in the Maritime music scene. The recognition from the ECMA signals more strong momentum for the band as they continue to develop new material and reach new ears to expand their reach.
The 2026 ECMA Awards will take place in Sydney, Nova Scotia from May 20-24, 2026, bringing together artists and delegates from across Canada to celebrate excellence in music.
