Born from the primordial pulse of heavy metal, Direwolf began to form in 2019 when Taylor Sheasgreen answered Patrick Gelsomino’s Kijiji ad seeking musicians with a shared vision of starting a metal project. The two instantly connected over their love of both classic and modern metal, sparking a creative fire that would soon evolve into something far greater. With Taylor providing vocals/rhythm guitar and Patrick taking on lead guitar, what would soon become Direwolf, was born.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

     As the band’s sonic identity took form, the lineup was reinforced by the razor-sharp (but methodical) drumming of Tom Antle, a seasoned veteran of the East Coast music scene, and the technical prowess of Mason Wilkins on bass. Direwolf was realized - a fully armed war machine, ready to unleash its fury.

​​     Direwolf brings a sound that feels both familiar and fresh -- appealing to die-hard metalheads and newcomers alike. The band's primary musical influence is a thunderous union of old-school thrash legends (Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Testament, Suicidal Tendencies, and more) in a head-on collision with the diverse brutality of chart-topping modern metal (Trivium, Machine Head, In Flames, Gojira, and more). Riff-driven to its core, a Direwolf song is a relentless assault, balancing instrumentals that rip you open and tear you to shreds, with infectious, anthemic hooks that strike like a hammer on an anvil and stay branded in your mind.
